The 2014 release of George T Stagg bourbon is wonderfully mature in both taste and texture. This edition was released in the fall and is from Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Antique Collection. The 2014 edition of this bourbon is aged for over 16 years in new charred oak barrels with a finished cask strength of 138.1% proof and only under 11,000 bottles are in circulation. The nose opens with hits of darkly roasted wood, caramel, and smooth vanilla. The palate has delicious notes of caramelized wood, candied brown sugar, and layers of aged oak wrapped in leather.
