Old Crow Kentucky Straight Bourbon (1983 Release)

$499.00

Old Crow, one of Kentucky's oldest bourbon brands, was created in the 1830s by Scottish immigrant James C. Crow at the Old Oscar Pepper distillery. He pioneered scientific methods to ensure consistent quality. The brand was later acquired by W.A. Gaines, who opened the Old Crow distillery. Both were procured by National Distillers during Prohibition and produced until 1987, when Jim Beam bought and moved production to their Clermont facility.

This bottle, from the National Distillers era, was produced in the 1980's at their Old Grand-dad distillery.

The 1970s and 1980s "Glut Era" saw warehouses overstocked with whiskey, leading to better-aged bourbon often being included in standard expressions, making them well worth trying.
