The 2017 William Larue Weller Kentucky straight bourbon is another exceptionally prime offering from Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Antique Collection series is as coveted a sip as they come. Distilled in Winter 2005 and released in Fall 2017, this whiskey is double distilled in BTD beer stills and aged 12 years and 6 months in 155 select new white oak #4 char barrels for a finished barrel strength of 128.2 proof. Composed of #1 & #2 distiller’s grade Kentucky corn, N. Dakota wheat, and N. Dakota malted barley, 2017 William Larue Weller straight bourbon has a nose of caramel, vanilla, and cream over hints of hand-made toffee candies. The palate is warm with notes of cherries in honey, pepper, vanilla, brown sugar, and oak.
