Founded in 1825 by brothers, Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, the Talisker distillery was initially a flop. In 1880 its fortunes changed when Roderick Kemp and Alexander Allen purchased the distillery and drove it into a success, eventually to be purchased by Diageo. Fast forward to 1998 when Talisker was promoted to a founding member of the Classic Malts Selection of Diageo. It is now one of Diageo's most important single malt brands. Proven to be a huge success within Diageo's 'Classic Malts' series, Talisker 10 Year Old is an intense coastal spicy whisky with a distinctive, peaty character. A truly elemental malt.
