A special version of Laphroaig Cairdeas, the Ileach edition is named in reference to John Campbell, the whisky's creator. This line from Laphroaig was made to celebrate their "Friends" around the world. The even named it after the Gaelic word for friendship. He used Maker's Mark bourbon barrels in the creation of this, and bottled it at natural cask strength. Good level of sweetness on the nose with hints of fruits and smoke. This offering has a spectacular taste with a warm feel to it. The flavor is smooth, silky and with just enough smoke to know it is there. The finish is refreshing, crisp and smooth.
