One of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, Glenfarclas offers their limited 40 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky for a taste of the Speyside that you will not find anywhere else. The aroma begins with the strong bite of used furniture polish over deep antique leather and rich wood. These aromas are followed by boughs of melted chocolate, espresso, and reminds the nose of preserved raisins, dark fruits, prunes, and newly cooked marmalade. This offering tastes of wood spiced with pepper, baked cinnamon, and chocolate-covered hazelnuts over gentle notes of stewed fruits and a surprising pop of balsamic vinegar. At 92 proof this dram is a delicate balance of sweet and bitter aged to perfection.
