This 2019 edition of Buffalo Trace’s highly anticipated Colonel E. H. Taylor Barrel Proof bourbon is the 8th offering from this annually released collection. Aged a minimum of 7 years in white oak #4 char barrel for a finished barrel strength of 129.3 proof, EHTBP Batch 8 is NAS whiskey with an undisclosed mash bill said to be crafted from BTD’s #1 blend of an estimated 75% corn, 10% rye, and 15% malted barley. Rare and supremely collectible, this decadent quaff has a nose full of baked corn, grain dust, and dark cherries over sweet raisins, bright citrus, and warm baking spices. The palate is layers of cherries and dark plums between shaved corn husks, chocolate, and bites of vanilla, caramel, and fudge.
