Stewart MBE to mark his 50 years with The Balvenie, the Double Wood 17 Year Old Single Malt Scotch offers double the tasting pleasure through consecutive maturation in two unique casks. Initially aged for a minimum of 16 years in American oak barrels, it is then transferred to European oak sherry casks for an additional year, resulting in a much-coveted quaff with undisclosed mash bill, high malted barley content, and bottled at 86 proof. Discontinued by The Balvenie in 2021, it has earned the status of an authentic unicorn cask in the whiskey world, making it a prized addition to any premium liquor collection.
