Balvenie Tun 1509, launched in 2014, succeeds Tuns 1401 and 1858. This scotch, matured in oak sherry butts and American oak barrels, delivers an oaky taste with notes of orange zest, cinnamon, and shortbread. Despite its high ABV, the whisky offers a smooth palate, balancing vibrancy and a racy character with a well-rounded body of toasty, malty, cereal notes. Fruity sweetness from toasted coconut and dried apples, along with hints of mahogany wood oil, adds complexity, leading to a sharp finish with a bite of toasty cereal.
