Schenley Reserve American Finest Whiskey (1960's)

$229.00

Schenley originated in Schenley, Pennsylvania, where Frank and Harry Sinclaire and Henry Bischoff built a large rye whiskey distillery in 1892 near the Allegheny River and the Allegheny Valley Railroad. Designed for large-scale production, the plant produced Pennsylvania sweet-mash rye whiskey for the New York market and quickly expanded its capacity and warehouses. After Prohibition halted operations in 1918, the property was acquired and later reorganized by liquor executives Daniel K. Weiskopf and Lewis Rosenstiel, forming the foundation of the Schenley Products Company. Following Repeal, Schenley grew into one of the dominant American distilling companies, operating multiple distilleries and controlling substantial stocks of aging whiskey, including major bourbon and rye brands.
