This highly sought-after 24-year Highland single malt was distilled at Brora in 1977 and became part of the esteemed Rare Malts Selection when bottled in October 2001.  Brora, originally known as Clynelish until 1968, when the new Clynelish Distillery opened, was established in 1819 by the Marquess of Stafford. From 1969 to 1973, Brora produced heavily peated whisky to supplement Islay whisky during a regional drought, shifting to a lightly peated Highland style thereafter.
