Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Scotch Whisky (1L, 1980's Release)

This early 1980s version of Macallan 12, with a screw top and released for the duty-free market in a full liter format, represents a classic era of Macallan. Following Macallan's takeover of their bottlings from Campbell, Hope & King in 1980, they initially offered both an 8 and 12 year old release, later adding a 10 year old. The 12 year old quickly became the favorite and remains the only one of the three still in production today, now featured in the Sherry Oak Cask line. This beautifully dark, sherried Macallan 12 reflects the brand’s rich heritage and early label transition from Macallan-Glenlivet to The Macallan Distillers Ltd.
