The Imperial Distillery, a Speyside single malt producer in Carron, operated intermittently from 1897 until its closure in 1998 and demolition in 2013. Replaced by the Dalmunach Distillery in 2015, Imperial’s legacy lives on through rare independent bottlings. This 25-year-old single malt, distilled in 1998 and bottled by Cask 88 in collaboration with artist Jonathan Freemantle, was matured in refill bourbon barrel #100916 and released in July 2023 as one of only 200 bottles.
