Hakushu 'Peated Malt Spanish Oak' Japanese Whisky (Kogei Collection)

The Suntory Hakushu Peated Malt Spanish Oak Kogei Collection is part of a limited series celebrating traditional Japanese craftsmanship, with “Kogei” referring to Japanese artisanal techniques. The collection was developed in collaboration with Chiso, a Kyoto-based Kyo-Yuzen kimono house established in 1555. Chiso’s artisans used Bokashi-zome, a traditional gradation-dyeing technique, to create designs inspired by the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, which appear on washi paper labels and packaging. The whisky combines peated malt with Spanish oak maturation, contributing smoky character alongside notes of dried fruit and spice.
