Glenhaven 'Macallan-Glenlivet Distillery' 16 Year Single Malt Scotch (1978 Release, US Import)

Once primarily used in blends, Macallan shifted focus to single malts during the 1980s market downturn. This coincided with growing appreciation for its high-quality releases from the 1960s and 1970s, now highly collectible. While Glenfiddich and Glenlivet lead in sales, Macallan is the most sought-after, prompting a state-of-the-art distillery in 2018.  

This rare bottling was produced by Glenhaven Scotch Whisky Co. for the U.S. market. Glenhaven operated briefly from 1994 to 1997, ceasing after founder Bill Thompson’s passing.
