GlenDronach takes a step back in time with Traditionally Peated, paying homage to the Highland distillery's 1826 origins when peat was burned in kilns during barley malting. Staying true to its signature sherried style, this expression marries whiskies from Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso sherry, and Port casks, bottled at 48% ABV. The nose reveals treacle, orange sweeties, set honey, liquorice, and smoky oak, while the palate offers flamed orange peel, maple syrup, Scottish tablet, clove-studded orange, and cooked plum. It concludes with lingering smoked barley and juicy forest fruits, creating a beautifully nostalgic and complex dram.
