Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection Cabernet Franc Aged After 8 Years is a rye-mash whiskey distilled July 2, 1990. After aging 8 years and 1 month in new American oak, it was re-barreled on August 19, 1998 into a used French oak Cabernet Franc barrel from Barrel Associates with a medium toast. Bottled February 26, 2007 at 90 proof from a single barrel, the experiment highlights the balance between wine-influenced barrel character and mature bourbon notes.
