Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection 1997 Double Barreled (Experiment 2 of 2) is a bourbon distilled November 18, 1997 and later re-barreled on December 12, 2001. Aged 11 years and 10 months in #4 charred white oak barrels made by Independent Stave Co., this two-barrel release was bottled September 16, 2009 at 90 proof. The double-barreling produced pronounced barrel influence, a deep caramel color, a robust opening on the palate, and a smooth finish.
