In 2021, Nikka Whisky launched the first U.S. releases in its “Nikka Discovery” series: Single Malt Yoichi Non-Peated and Single Malt Miyagikyo Peated. The three-year series, leading up to Nikka’s 90th anniversary in 2024, explores different aspects of the whisky-making process across its two distilleries. Single Malt Miyagikyo Peated departs from the distillery’s typically light, fruity style, using only peated malt to create a bold expression that balances smoky depth with Miyagikyo’s signature estery elegance.
