Laphroaig Cairdeas Port Wood is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky produced by Laphroaig. Released as part of the distillery’s annual Cairdeas series for the 2013 Islay Festival of Music and Malt, this expression was matured initially in ex-bourbon barrels and subsequently finished in port casks. The dual maturation imparts a balance of Laphroaig’s characteristic peat smoke with layered sweetness and fruit influence derived from the port wood.
