2012 Gandona Chardonnay

Manuel Pires spent his summers at his grandfather’s Quinta in the renowned Douro wine region, where he vowed to one day work the land. In 2006, Manuel and his wife, Cristina, bought an estate on Pritchard Hill, where they began creating Gandona Estate. Alongside winemaker Philippe Melka and viticulturist Jim Barbour, they focus on crafting world-class wines. Encosta ("slope") comes from the steep, terraced hillsides of Gandona Estate, with its distinct terra cotta-colored volcanic soil.
