Angel's Envy Cask Strength Port Finished Bourbon Whiskey (2012 First Release)

A limited-edition Kentucky straight bourbon produced by Louisville Distilling Co., founded by Lincoln Henderson in 2011. This inaugural cask strength release, bottled at 61.85% ABV (123.7 proof), was limited to only 600 bottles and was available exclusively in select U.S. markets.

The bourbon was aged for six years in new charred oak barrels, then finished for an additional 3 to 6 months in French oak ruby port barrels imported from Portugal . This finishing process imparted a rich, complex character to the whiskey.

As the first release in Angel's Envy's annual cask strength series, this 2012 bottling has become a sought-after collectible. It was awarded the “Best Spirit in the World” in 2013 by F. Paul Pacult’s Spirit Journal.
