2010 Arkenstone Estate Red

The Arkenstone Estate Cabernet (formerly Obsidian) is made entirely from Howell Mountain fruit, grown between 1400–1650’. Howell Mountain’s rocky soils, dry climate, and high elevation stress the vines, yielding small, concentrated berries with distinct earth, mineral, and fruit intensity. Each year, the blend is sourced from the 16 best-performing blocks out of 22 dedicated to this wine. Total vineyard control allows the wine to be shaped from vine to bottle. Grapes are handpicked, gravity-fed into the fermentation hall, then fermented and aged by lot. After 11 months in barrel, the final blend is created, which then spends another 11 months in barrel and a final year in bottle before release.
