2004 Nickel & Nickel Rock Cairn Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This Nickel & Nickel single-vineyard Cabernet originates from the Rock Cairn Vineyard in Oakville, planted in 1984. Dry-farmed in deep, gravelly loam soils with a western exposure, it yields intensely concentrated fruit due to extended hang time. The 2004 vintage produced low yields, resulting in a robust wine with cassis, black cherry, and licorice flavors. Depth is enhanced by notes of dried herbs, olives, and minerals, while aging in 50% new and 50% once-used French oak broadens the mid-palate and lengthens the finish.
