W.L. Weller 7 Year Special Reserve Bourbon (1989 Release) Stitzel-Weller, 1.75L

$2,949.00

William Larue Weller, born in 1825, founded the W.L. Weller brand in 1849. Originally a rectification business, the brand shifted after the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897 and Weller’s death in 1899. Julian "Pappy" Van Winkle took over, steering the brand through Prohibition and establishing Stitzel-Weller in 1933. The brand continued there for over 60 years before being sold to Sazerac in 1999, who now distill it at Buffalo Trace. This version of Weller Special Reserve, bottled during the United Distillers era, carries a 7-year age statement and was distilled at Stitzel-Weller.
