1980 Allegrini 'Giovanni Allegrini'

$49.99

Allegrini is a family-owned winery in Veneto’s Valpolicella Classico region, renowned as a top producer in Italy, especially for Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. The Allegrini family has been in the area since the 16th century, with a long history in winegrowing. The modern estate was established in the mid-20th century by Giovanni Allegrini, who built its reputation for fine wine in the 1960s and ’70s. Today, Allegrini’s wines come exclusively from estate-grown grapes across 90 hectares in Sant'Ambrogio and Fumane, where chalky, southeast-facing slopes favor quality viticulture. While best known for Amarone, Allegrini also produces wines beyond classic DOC zones.
