1979 Marchesi Antinori Solaia Toscana IGT

$399.99

Solaia is a 20-hectare vineyard on the Tignanello estate, situated at 350–400 meters above sea level with a southwest exposure. The soils are a mix of stony alberese (hard limestone) and galestro (clay-limestone). First produced by the Antinori family in 1978, the original blend was 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc, a composition also used in 1979. In later vintages, 20% Sangiovese was introduced, and the proportions of the Cabernet varieties were adjusted to form the blend used today.
