1979 Charles Krug Peter Mondavi Family Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon (VHS)

$149.99

In 1943, Charles Krug Winery was acquired by Cesare Mondavi and Rosa Mondavi. Under Peter Mondavi, the winery became a leader in Napa Valley, helping pioneer cold fermentation, Cabernet Sauvignon production, and the use of new French oak barrels.

A key development came in 1958 with the acquisition of 325 acres of the famed To Kalon Vineyard. Following a family dispute, Peter Mondavi retained Charles Krug in 1978, while Robert Mondavi received the To Kalon vineyard holdings and went on to establish his own winery.
