Released in early 2000, The Macallan 1861 Replica Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the second release in the distillery’s Replica series. Inspired by an original 1861 Macallan bottling, this expression was crafted by Bob Dalgarno and John McWilliam using whisky from 28 sherry casks to closely match the historical profile. With an estimated outturn of 17,000 bottles, it features aromas of citrus, spice, toffee, and spring florals. The palate offers notes of lemon, spice, resin, and smoked oak.
